The role of Volunteer Development Director underpins our strategy to deliver breakthroughs for children. It leads our vision to ensure our supporters are at the heart of everything we do.

This newly created ground breaking opportunity will see you realise our radical strategy to engage the nation in all aspects of our work. We are to become a truly a supporter led organisation, from campaigning to the delivery of our programme work, with active local communities across the UK.

Leading a team of 28 paid staff, your brief will be to develop and implement a strategy to deepen the engagement of our existing supporters, while inspiring a new wave of people to give their time, energy and skills. Our vision is for volunteers to be embedded in Save the Children maximising our impact for children.

You’ll have responsibility to lead a senior project team in developing and implementing a strategy for delivering our volunteer vision, building innovative new functions to support them in ways of working.

Having delivered against substantial profit and loss, you’re a leader who displays conviction to carry people through periods of change, with challenging goals
