An opportunity exists for a highly experienced and empowered business developer to join Kendle in the newly created position of Executive Director, Strategic Relationships. This Senior Development role is one of broad customer exposure, executive level penetration targets, and strategic relationship building within the key accounts. The position can be based from our European Headquarters in Camberley or from other prominent locations such as Munich, Utrecht, Paris.

Kendle was also recognised by Industry Standard Research in the "2009 CRO Quality Benchmarking Report" as delivering "the most consistent quality services" out of all the CROs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Establish executive level (Director, VP, CEO) lines of communication between the customer and Kendle
• Investigate and develop strategic business relationships for specific product development, overall program management, specific service areas, full partnering arrangements
• Manage and promote development of global clinical trial business
• Manage the Key Client team
• Act as a Kendle Senior Executive for the key clients
• Develop junior level NBD managers within the key client as they provide traditional NBD services to the client at program, contracts and services level
• Participate in internal strategic planning at Kendle for delivery of pipeline repeat business from key clients and developmental of new areas of business, representing the business outlooks from the key clients
• Participate in Kendle New Business Development planning, consistency and quality of delivery of business services and client relationships
• Participate on Governance committees and/or special company projects

Skills & Attributes:

Suitable candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent (although an advanced degree is preferred). You should also have a proven track record of successful sales/BD experience, ideally gained from both the Pharma and CRO side of the business.

Candidate/ incumbent should have a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards in the CRO industry. Candidate/incumbent should be able to understand, organize and supervise staff to work concurrently on several projects, each with specific requirements that may differ from project to project. Excellent time management skills and decision making skills are essential.

Candidate/ incumbent should be attentive to detail, flexible, open to suggestions, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
