Key Functionality:

The role of Product Development Manager within the Product Development Team is a new, exciting and key position which will allow the successful candidate to make a major contribution to sales growth through their innovative approach to product development and effective management of our team of Development Technologists.

They will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Product Development programme and assigned projects in accordance with the Business and Development priorities & objectives, as agreed with the Head of Product Development.

Team Management:

The successful candidate will have the ability and drive to successfully manage, motivate and support their team of Development Technologists, to meet the demands of the business and deliver new and innovative solutions in both new product development and continuous product improvement.

Relationship Management:

The Product Development Manager has a responsibility to support the integration of their team in to the respective business units in order to facilitate thorough understanding of the customer and consumer expectations and subsequently identify new opportunities. The successful candidate will build close working relationships with the Business unit managers to ensure that the needs and priorities of each of the sectors is thoroughly understood.

The Product Development Manager and their team will work very closely with the Development Chefs to identify and create new and improved products that provide commercial and competitive advantage and by effectively managing cross-functional teams to deliver new and improved products in alignment with the manufacturing strategies.

Experience of successfully delivering product development projects within multi- functional teams

Successful experience in managing product development teams to deliver competitive advantage

Experience of Product Development within frozen or chilled protein based foods

Sound experience and knowledge of all aspects of the product development process.

Experience of preparing product costings
