Despite the tabloid headlines, spending on management consultants will continue throughout 2010 and beyond. The public sector just can't operate without them. To join them, you'll need to be working in local government, or be consulting to it. You might be the product of a local authority graduate management/professional training scheme, or have moved into the sector after qualifying as an accountant or HR specialist.
