The Appointment

• This newly created position is fundamental to the continued growth and prosperity of The Press. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will have P&L responsibility for the operational management and results of the business worldwide.
• In the short term, the focus will be on optimising operational and commercial performance, improving systems and processes. In the longer term, the emphasis will be on driving the strategy and growth of the group, taking it to the next level in terms of scale and maturity.
• Developing new digital product/service offerings and building the management team will be key to The Press’s continued success.

The Candidate

• Proven success as a P&L responsible MD, General Manager or COO, ideally in the publishing, media or information services sector. A strong knowledge of, and a genuine passion for, the digital content market is vital.
• The appointee will be a first-class communicator and people leader with an exemplary track record in delivering business performance improvement.
• A strong customer service ethic is essential, as is the ability to instil the need for rigour, discipline and exacting operating standards. As the business continues to expand globally, a willingness to travel is a pre-requisite and language skills will be advantageous.
