Pivotal to this is the appointment of a well-rounded Finance Director to take responsibility for Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Health and Safety and play a key role in “corporatising“ the business to make it fit for purpose for the public market and for future acquisition activities.
With a market capitalisation of c £20 million, our specialist Engineering client is currently floating its business to support its ambitious future plans for both organic and acquisitive growth.
The successful candidate will be a key member of a collegiate executive, will lead initiatives to enhance and optimise financial performance, drive improvements in financial processes and support commercial and operational decision making. You will make a contribution across all areas of the business’s activities against a backdrop of continuous improvement and investment in its people. You will be an integral part of the strategic planning and decision-making processes in particular with acquisitions and the integration thereof. The role will encompass working closely with the Executive Board and the Non-Executives in interfacing with investors and the full range of external advisors to provide appropriate communication and ensure corporate and regulatory requirements are met.
The individual to be appointed will have a proven record in a manufacturing/engineering business in which you can demonstrate a record of successfully impacting on operational performance. Experience of M&A and successful strategic activities are essential but whilst it would be helpful to have a record as a PLC Finance Director it is not essential. More important is an understanding of PLC reporting, a hunger and desire to achieve and both personal and corporate ambition to be “best in class.”
You will be driven to positively engage management across the business, will be responsible for the business planning and budgetary control cycle, monitor performance trends and KPI ‘s and both challenge and support at all levels. It is taken as read that you will be positive and incisive, highly professional and articulate and will have both gravitas and presence.
